Eye of the Storm

Since the birth of the genre, the art of sampling has always been an integral and defining part of hip-hop culture. You'd be hard-pressed to name a classic hip-hop track that has not taken much of its identity from another song, usually from another genre. With so much sampling taking place over the past few decades, it is rare to find a song that can harness the craft in such a unique and phenomenal manner that it truly breathes new life into the artform. That song is Bliss n Eso's latest masterpiece, Eye of the Storm, and its blueprint comes courtesy of Angus & Julia Stone's incredible Paper Aeroplane. Paper Aeroplane's raw guitar chords and whispy drums provide a pallet which the boys use to paint a vivid picture of pure delirium and tranquility.

With no label push, Eye of the Storm has become the new album's most popular song entirely of its own accord. It's the most downloaded track on iTunes; the most requested track on their J Award nominated album on Triple J; and it has been requested more often on commercial radio than any other track off an album including Flying Colours' three hit singles in Bullet and a Target, Woodstock 2008 and The Sea is Rising. The demand has been absolutely overwhelming, and with more and more stations adding this into rotation of their own accord, we simply cannot hold off for any longer. Without any further ado, off the back of their ARIA Award win and in anticipation of December's international tour, it is time to officially deliver Bliss n Eso's most beautiful piece of work to date – Eye of the Storm.
