True Live join Illusive

Illusive is very proud to announce that they will be releasing seminal Melbourne outfit True Live's upcoming sophomore LP in 2009. They have been hand-picked to join the label's boutique roster which now includes Bliss N Eso, Lowrider, Downsyde and Paris Wells amongst others. The album, to be titled Found Lost, illustrates an evolution from the group's earlier work while maintaining the same raw, organic vibe and unpredictabilities which characterise their iconic sound. After forming in 2005, the six man crew very quickly garnered a cult following in Melbourne's live circuit as word spread of their phenomenal energy on stage and unique set-up, which encompasses a hybrid singer / MC, double bass, violin, cello, keys and drums. But, an extraordinary mixture of instruments is nothing without the incredible chemistry that exists between the members of True Live. The boys took their show on the road time and time again, and in no time were selling out gigs nationwide off the back of word of mouth alone. True Live had become the band that you absolutely needed to see.
The group's long awaited debut album, The Shape of It, was released in late 2006 to rave reviews, and suddenly the underground's favourite sons had been born into the public eye. The album's lead single, TV, was smashed on community radio across the country and also saw unpredicted support from Nova, The Edge, MTV, Channel V and Video Hits – and eventually became the soundtrack for a mammoth Foxtel ad campaign. The album, which most had expected to sell modestly, sold remarkably well off limited promotion, and not surprisingly, so did their following nationwide tours.
In the first half of 2009, True Live will release their absurdly anticipated follow-up effort, Found Lost – and believe us, it's been worth the wait.
