On Tuesday morning, Bliss N Eso were announced to perform at Melbourne's Sound Relief concert on March 14th. The historic event, which sees all proceeds going to the Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal, is only the second time in a decade that a concert has taken place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, one of Australia's most iconic locations.
Bliss N Eso become the sole hip-hop act on the single stage set-up and join a phenomenal line-up which features Kings of Leon, Jack Johnson, Hunters & Collectors, Midnight Oil, Split Enz, Wolfmother, Paul Kelly, Augie March, Liam Finn, Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicholson, Jet and Gabriella Cilmi. Sydney's show, which is held at the SCG on the same day, includes acts like Coldplay, The Presets, Eskimo Joe, You Am I and the Hoodoo Gurus amongst another incredible line-up. Sydney's Sound Relief will see all proceeds donated evenly to the Bushfire Appeal and Queensland's Disaster Relief Fund.
A year on, Bliss N Eso's Flying Colours LP still sits firmly inside ARIA's Top 100 album chart and is joined by The Presets' Apocalypso, Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicholson's Rattlin' Bones, Gurrumul's Gurrumul as the only Australian albums to maintain such a high placing since their releases.
